OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. — Dustin Diamond, the actor best known for playing Screech on television comedy "Saved by the Bell," will be released from jail Monday, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office.

Diamond was convicted last year of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct at a bar fight in Port Washington, Wisconsin.

Both counts were misdemeanors, and Diamond was cleared of a felony as well. The actor testified he was trying to protect his girlfriend when he pulled out a pocketknife during the fight.

The four-month sentence, which started January 15th, included a work release program.

"While Dustin Diamond was an inmate at the jail he agreed to participate in the Jail Porter Program," a statement from Ozaukee County Sheriff Jim Johnson reads. "He was selected for the porter program as a general custodial maintenance porter."

"Taking part in this program allows the individual to receive one (1) day of 'Good Time' for every 24 hours worked. Dustin Diamond earned 30 days of 'Good Time'."
