A Japanese man is accused of cutting off the penis of his wife's alleged lover before flushing it down a toilet.
The Japan Times reported Thursday that Ikki Kotsugai, 24, attacked the 42-year-old victim with a pair of garden shears. The weapon later turned out to be a pair of scissors.
Kotsugai reportedly beat the unidentified man before removing his pants and cutting off what police described as a "lower body part" that was later confirmed to be his genitals. The victim's injuries were described by police to not be life threatening.
The victim is a lawyer who may have been romantically involved with Kotsugai's wife, according to the Japan Times. Kotsugai is a graduate student in Tokyo.
Kotsugai was arrested after the attack.
