The future of American Indian team logos isn't just an issue in the big leagues. It's also something that's being considered at a high school in Parma, Ohio.

For decades, "The Redmen" has been the mascot at Parma Senior High School. But now, the school system is exploring a potential logo change.

Some are questioning the American Indian logo that has been part of the school's history since the 1930's.

School officials say they plan to hold a series of community meetings and get input from all sides, including students, before making a final decision.

Dr. Charles Smialek, Superintendent of Parma City Schools said, "We want to get consensus, we want to hear from both sides, you know folks that have reached out and shared that they're very passionate about the logo remaining and there's folks that have reached out and are very passionate about changing the logo, so, we're really trying to consider all perspectives."

If the mascot is retired, it wouldn't happen until the 2021-2022 school year.
