Lululemon Athletica has recalled about 318,000 women's tops after numerous complaints that metal and plastic-tipped elastic drawstrings were causing facial injuries to wearers.
In total, 23 varieties of the fitness clothing company's tops were affected by the recall, which was announced Thursday by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to a release, seven people were injured while wearing the tops. The Associated Press reported that the injuries happened when the elastic cord — located around the neck area of the tops — became caught on something, causing the hard tip to snap back and hit the wearer in the face or eye.
The affected tops were sold between January 2008 - December 2014, according to the CPSC. The group recommended consumers to either remove the drawstring or contact Lululemon to request a non-elastic cord.

In 2013, Lululemon was forced to recall a large amount of its popular yoga pants, eventually resulting in the resignation of two executives, including the company's chairman.
