Jon Stewart will step down from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" later in 2015, the network confirmed in a tweet Tuesday evening.
Stewart has been a part of "The Daily Show" since 1999 and has served as the show's executive producer and co-executive producer.
The on-air talent has blended comedy and politics. He has won 20 Primetime Emmy Awards, according to IMDB.com. Comedy Central's official Twitter account thanked Stewart for his time with the show.
