Pixar's "Inside Out" had the "highest-ever opening by an original movie that isn't based on source material."
The movie earned $90 million, surpassing "Avatar" for that record. It did not surpass the box office cash take of "Jurassic World," which had the largest global opening of any film just last weekend.
"Inside Out" is just behind 'Toy Story 3" as Pixar's send-highest opening ever.
"Jurassic World" is set to pass the $1 billion mark, having already earning $900 million worldwide.
