He wanted out.

Democratic Senate candidate Chad Taylor was removed from the ballot by the Kansas Supreme Court, just hours before a deadline to print the ballots.

Taylor, a district attorney in Shawnee County, Kansas, had attempted to drop out of the race to give independent candidate Greg Orman a shot to beat incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan.

Taylor's attempt to withdraw from the race was blocked by Kansas District Attorney, which prompted the lawsuit.

The ballots were to begin printing Thursday to send overseas by Saturday.
