A music festival after-party hosted by Grammy Award-winning rapper Drake gave way to brutal violence early Tuesday morning.
Two people were killed and three others were "seriously injured" after a shooting at Muzik nightclub, located in one of Toronto's most popular tourist areas, according to the Toronto Star.
The shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m., based on what Toronto police told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Muzik was hosting an official after-party that celebrated the wrap of OVO Fest, an annual music festival hosted by Drake's record label.
It was unclear whether Drake was at the party when the shooting happened, according to CBC.
The dead victims — a man and woman — were described as "in their 20s and 30s" by the Toronto Star. The newspaper also indicated that three other victims — two men and a woman — were taken to area hospitals.
As of 11:24 a.m. Tuesday, there was no mention of the shooting from the Twitter accounts of Drake or his record label.
