What would Colonel Sanders say?

KFC said Monday it will suspend the use of "It's Finger Lickin' Good" in its advertising after 64 years.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based fast-food restaurant said in a statement that it "doesn't feel quite right" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"We find ourselves in a unique situation -- having an iconic slogan that doesn't quite fit in the current environment," Catherine Tan-Gillespie, global chief marketing officer at KFC, said in a statement. "While we are pausing the use of 'It's Finger Lickin' Good,' rest assured the food craved by so many people around the world isn't changing one bit."

"It's Finger Lickin' Good" was first used in 1956, when the restaurant chain was known as Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Traditionalists rest assured, though: KFC will bring it back "when the time is right."
