PADUCAH, Ky. -- An armed robber targeted a Kentucky hotel but apparently did not expect a quick-thinking clerk.
Paducah police believe the armed man in surveillance video is Cory Phillips. They say he brandished a gun and demanded money at the Country Inn and Suites Monday night.
In the video-- you see the clerk throws money on the counter. When the robber collects it, he puts down his gun. The clerk then grabs it.

The robber, now unarmed, runs away. Moments later he returns and tries to get the weapon back.
The clerk points it at him and he quickly leaves again.
Phillips was arrested the following afternoon. He is charged with robbery and receiving stolen property.
