BIRKENHEAD, ENGLAND — Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle gave royal baby watchers a little more information about her pregnancy on Monday morning.

The Associated Press and several other global media outlets report that Markle told a well-wisher at an event in Birkenhead she was six months along.

Traditionally, Royals are very tight-lipped about pregnancy specifics, such as time frames, due dates, or genders.

A large crowd had turned out in Birkenhead, near Liverpool, to greet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who spent a notable amount of time shaking hands and chatting with locals.

Markle, who is 37, suggested her first child will arrive sometime in April, but said she and her husband did not know the gender.

During their trip to Birkenhead, the couple's first joint engagement of the year, they viewed a new statue commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of World War One poet Wilfred Owen. They also visited a number of local community organizations.

The visit to the square was scheduled to last 30 minutes but overran by more than half an hour as the Duke and Duchess slowly worked their way through the adoring crowds.
