He's not off to see the wizard, but a judge.

A man hired to portray the Tin Man in the central New York hometown of the author of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" was arrested for drunk driving while still in his stage makeup.

31-year-old Nicholas Sherman of Cortland was arrested Sunday in Sullivan, NewYork for aggravated DWI.

He was to play the Tin Man in the village of Chittenango, the hometown L. Frank Baum, the author of the book.

A breath test showed a blood alcohol content of .19 which is more than twice the legal limit.

Organizers of the OzStravaganza festival told Syracuse.com that Sherman was not an official Oz cast member, and was not associated with the festival itself.
