Martin County is taking action to fight those pesky mosquitoes.

It turns out tires are one of the main breeding sites for mosquitoes because they collect water and retain heat.

Martin County is working to combat the issue by holding free tire recycling events.

People can drop off up to 10 car tires per family at no cost.

Tire Recycle Mania will be held every Saturday through May 4.
