Cellphone thieves are targeting Florida stores, Martin County Sheriff's Office says

The Martin County Sheriff's Office is issuing a warning to stores selling cellphones and electronics.

It says traveling thieves are targeting retailers in the state and have struck Sprint and T-Mobile stores in Jensen Beach as well as stores in St. Lucie, Brevard, and Hillsborough counties.

The robbers work in pairs and pretend to be shopping, the sheriff's office said. It said one person will distract a clerk while the other will take cellphones or electronics from display cases.
