The Bill Brooks' Food for Families food drive is in full swing, with the final drop-off event on Friday at the WPTV studios.

And now, for the first time, you can also donate money that will translate into meals for local families in need.

There are two ways to donate. The first is to text FOOD4FAMILIES to 41444. You will then receive a link to a secure donation page where you can give any amount.

The other method is to visit the United Way's Food for Families web page and donate there.

Every dollar donated translates into two pounds of food, so a $10 donation means 20 pounds of food helping our community.

If you would like to drop off non-perishable food, below is a list of scheduled drop-off events as well as a number of locations that will accept donations any day through the food drive.
