Crews have responded to a fire at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson.
According to officials, an electrical fire ignited at the hospital located at 14000 Fivay Road on Wednesday evening.
Multiple units from Pasco and Hernando Counties are on scene.
Approximately 20 patients are in the process of being evacuated. An additional 290 patients inside may need to be evacuated. Critical patients are being evacuated first.
The fire started in the generator room and knocked out power to most of the hospital, according to officials.
Statewide mutual aid request has been made for additional assistance transporting patients.
Investigators are working to determine if weather played a part.
