Potentially contaminated Walmart meat recalled

The U.S. Agriculture Department said in a release on its website this week that a supplier to Wal-Mart stores has recalled about 90,000 pounds of beef products that may be "contaminated with extraneous wood materials."

According to the news release, the recall involves Sam's Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion brand beef patties supplied by the Minnesota-based Huisken Meat Company.

The two-pound boxes contain six pieces of “Sam’s Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19% Vidalia ® Onion” with use by dates of 05/17/2016, 05/29/2016 and 06/06/2016.

The products under the recall have the number “EST. 394A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
