A week before the Patriots won the Super Bowl the Palm Beach Zoo had a spectacle of their own; a brand new Baird's tapir calf was born.

Wait, what the heck is that? Let's turn to our friends at Wikipedia, "Baird's tapir, also known as the Central American tapir, is a species of tapir native to Mexico, Central America and northwestern South America. It is one of four Latin American species of tapir."

Still not clear? Here's a cute video.

The Zoo says on Facebook, "WELCOME TO THE WORLD: We are overjoyed to introduce our newest addition, a Baird's tapir calf, born Sunday, January 20, to proud parents Spencer and Alyssa. Tipping the scales at over 21 pounds, the newborn looks like a walking watermelon. In fact, the uncanny resemblance to a watermelon allows it to stay safely hidden in nests during the first few weeks of life. Right now the baby is behind the scenes bonding with mom. Stay tuned for public viewing details and a gender reveal! "
