Trying to come up with a few things to do with the family around the holidays?
Why not consider what some say is one of the best views in Central Florida?
Bok Tower Gardens is a National Historic Landmark in Lake Wales that's open 365 days a year. They have special holiday events through Jan. 8.
The Gothic Revival architecture and beautiful landscape were the vision of Edward W. Bok, who gave the land and structures to the American people in 1929.
The attraction sits on Iron Mountain, at 298 feet one of the highest points in Florida. The 205-foot Singing Tower houses a 60-bell carillon, whose bells can be heard for miles. Concerts from the carillion are held at 1 and 3 p.m. daily.
Surrounding the tower, the gardens, designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted, include acres of ferns, palms oaks and pines interspersed with lush and flowering foliage.
