Save The Panther 5k - Saturday, January 9, 2016, 7:30 – 9 a.m. at the Palm Beach Zoo

Run or walk to help save our state animal, the Florida panther!

This unique run starts in the Zoo parking lot then winds through Dreher Park, entering the Zoo on the west side. You’ll run past the wallaby viewing station, fennec fox exhibit, ocelots, siamang island and more on your way to the finish line in the Interactive Fountain where you’re welcome to cool off in its waters.

Your race registration also includes your free Zoo admission for 1/9/16 and half-off discount coupons for up to 3 friends and family that would like to see you cross the finish line and enjoy the day at the Zoo.

Walk Against Violence - Saturday, January 9, 2016, 9 a.m. at Catherine Strong Park.

Walk Against Violence is an initiative that focuses on violence awareness.  Residents, visitors and business owners are encouraged to support this effort by walking together in the spirit of unison and camaraderie.  At the conclusion of the walk, participants will gather at Catherine Strong Park for a variety of activities including guest speakers, violence awareness/prevention workshops, music, children's programs and more.

Aberdeen Color War event to benefit ACEing Autism - Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 3:30 p.m., Aberdeen Golf & Country Club in Boynton Beach

A dramatic torch-lighting ceremony will open Aberdeen Golf & Country Club’s second annual Color War on Sunday, January 10 at 3:30 p.m.  Volunteers and participants in the three-week-long series of events to benefit ACEing Autism will line Aberdeen Drive as the event torch is passed until it reaches the clubhouse.

Treasure Coast Real Estate Expo - Saturday, January 9, 2016, 11am – 4pm at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.

This event is a buyer and seller consumer show with free admission to the exhibits and attendance at seminars. Consumers will be able to meet and talk to top local real estate professionals all in one location.

Exhibitors include realtors, lenders, lawyers, builders, rental housing complexes, assisted living facilities and many others. Government and community service organizations will be present to answer questions about permitting, code compliance, property appraisal/tax assessment, assistance programs and other services.
