National Chinese Circus and the Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China - Friday, December 4, 2015, 4 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre - 59 SW Flagler Ave - Stuart, FL 34994

From feet juggling to high chair balancing, the National Chinese Circus and the Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China take the ancient acrobatic art to the next level in “Peking Dreams.” The operatic production incorporates acrobatics, music, mime, and dance together in an incredible visual spectacle. Featuring international award-winning performance artists, “Peking Dreams” will explore the sights, sounds, and magic of the city now known as Beijing.

For their performance at The Lyric Theatre, the National Chinese Circus and the Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China will perform “Peking Dreams,” a production complete with elaborate costumes, gorgeous make-up, and flawless routines. From the expressive and physical martial arts to the delicate art of carpet spinning, “Peking Dreams” explores the limits of the human body through acrobatics, dance, and performance, set to the enchanting sounds of Peking opera.

West Palm Beach Fair - Friday, December 4, 2015, 5 – 11:30 p.m. at the Palm Beach Kennel Club - 1111 North Congress Ave. - West Palm Beach, FL 33409

The Fearless Flores Circus and Thrill Show, semi-finalists on the blockbuster television show, “America’s Got Talent,” is just one of the new acts that will be making an appearance. The family will perform several of its death-defying shows each day, including motorcycle madness in the “Globe of Death,” a high-wire act high above the fairgrounds, and much more.

An exhibit new to the fair in 2015, the Kangaroo Experience is a collection of kangaroos on display where there will be several opportunities each day to learn more about the kangaroos and meet them up close and personal.

Christkindlmarkt - Saturday, December 5, 2015, 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the American German Club of the Palm Beaches -  5111 Lantana Road - Lake Worth, FL 33463

The American-German Club of the Palm Beaches brings back a favorite tradition, Christkindlmarkt (cr-ist-ken-dul-markt) the Club’s annual Christmas Market event.

Inspired by the world famous outdoor holidays markets found throughout Germany, Christkindlmarkt showcases a variety of delicious traditional food and drinks, unique vendor shopping, an outdoor ice skating rink, family friendly activities, and festive live entertainment and performances. German delicacies such as bratwurst, potato pancakes, and schnitzel along with sweet indulgences ranging from baked holiday specialties like the traditional Stollen, Strudel, Pretzels, and Roasted Nuts will satisfy all tastes. Imported German beer, and the not to be missed Glühwein - hot spiced wine, will be available for purchase in souvenir mugs.

Festival of Lights - Saturday, December 5, 2015, 2 – 10 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center - 9221 S.E. Civic Center Place, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952

Boys and girls can frolic and play in actual snow in the kids’ snow zone! They’ll also enjoy a small midway carnival. Ride tickets may be purchased for $1 each or you can ride unlimited with the purchase of a $20 wristband.

Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to sample local fare and do some holiday shopping among the arts and crafts vendors.

This opulent triptych was inspired by Balanchine’s visit to the famous jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels on New York’s Fifth Avenue, celebrating the cities and dance schools of Paris, New York and St. Petersburg, each bound to its own precious stone. “Jewels” offers a unique occasion to enjoy Balanchine’s visually captivating work, as the Bolshoi is the only company authorized by the Balanchine Trust to film and broadcast his masterpiece. Choreography by George Balanchine.
