WPTV was at two locations on Aug. 19 for our "Let's Hear It" meet-ups
From 9 a.m. to noon, our morning team was at the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County.
Then from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., WPTV's evening team was at the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County.
We're excited to hear your back-to-school experiences!
In Fort Pierce, WPTV Anchor Ashley Glass spoke with the CEO of nonprofit GraceWay Village, Chrystal Netherton, as the organization prepares to break ground on a new family shelter for those experiencing homelessness.

"There are families out here struggling to make ends meet," Netherton said. "Living in their vehicles, living in storage units, one-room hotel rooms, we have to do something for the 2,700 kids registered as homeless throughout our St. Lucie County school system."
The goal is to break ground on this facility within the next six months.
Down in Boynton Beach, WPTV's Janny Rodriguez and Kayla McDermott heard from our community at the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County!

Sarah Phillips, a mother of three students in West Boca, says the school bus system is struggling to keep up with demand this year.
Her daughter, a seventh grader, told her there hasn’t been enough room on the bus for all students. Some children are forced to squeeze three to a seat, while others have been left standing or unable to board at all.
Phillips shared her concerns with our team at "Let's Hear It," calling for immediate solutions to ensure students can get to and from school safely.
WPTV is working to reach out to district officials and community resources to seek answers about how the issue will be resolved.

Also, thank you to everyone who visited us at our last Let's Hear It community meet-up at Loggerhead Marinelife Center on July 29.
