1. Still waiting on your unemployment benefits? An investigation is coming
The U.S. Senate's top Democrat is calling on the Department of Labor's inspector general to investigate Florida's glitch-ridden unemployment system and why it's taking so long for it to disperse benefits.

Sen. Chuck Schumer asserts that Florida has only paid 28% of the 2 million people applying for benefits.

However, state officials say more than 90 percent of 1.3 million eligible claimants have been paid. The state's calculation does not include nearly 500,000 people it has initially deemed ineligible.

In May, Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would ask the state's inspector general to investigate the contract with the company that built Florida’s beleaguered unemployment website.

2. Delray Beach woman shot with rubber bullet considers civil rights lawsuit
A Delray Beach woman, who was shot in the face with a foam rubber bullet by Fort Lauderdale police during a recent protest, said she is considering a civil rights lawsuit.

LaToya Ratlieff was taking part in protests over the death of George Floyd last Sunday when she suffered injuries to her skull and right eye. Ratlieff said she is now nearly blind in her right eye as her swollen socket continues to heal

3. Some good news about the coronavirus!
There are currently no active cases of the coronavirus in New Zealand. No one has tested positive for the virus in the last 17 days, no one has received COVID-19 treatment in a hospital in the last 12 days and the reported case of "community" spread came 40 days ago.

A World Health Organization leader said that it has found data that suggests that asymptomatic spread of the coronavirus is “very rare," while another expert cautioned the findings. She said while those who don’t display coronavirus symptoms are capable of spreading the virus, those with symptoms are much more likely of spreading the virus.

4. Some bad news about the coronavirus.
Florida saw at least 1,000 new cases a day last week. Monday's total was in the 900 range.

Monday's increase is the fourth most in the state behind California, Texas and New York.

Over seven days, state deaths increased by 240 for 8.9 percent and by 36 for 10.7 percent in Palm Beach County. The national increase is under 5.7 percent over seven days through Sunday.

5. Jacksonville becomes the latest city to remove confederate monuments
One call from the numerous protests in the wake of George Floyd's death is to remove confederate monuments. The former capitol of the confederacy is working to remove a statue of Robert E. Lee and Kentucky, which was never part of the confederacy, seeks to do the same.

Protesters in the English port of Bristol toppled a statue of a 17th-century slave trader.

Now, Jacksonville has removed a monument of a Confederate infantryman from Hemming Park.
