ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A website dedicated to helping people save money puts three Florida cities as top locations for vacationing without leaving home.
WalletHub last week ranked Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa as the top three large cities in the nation for "staycations."
The website based its rankings on the cities' number of recreational activities, restaurants and businesses that cater to rest and relaxation.
Among the criteria used was the number of swimming pools per capita, the number of museums per capita and the number of spas per capita.
Other cities in the top 10 were Salt Lake City; Scottsdale, Arizona; Atlanta; Las Vegas; Minneapolis; St. Petersburg, Florida; and Honolulu.
