FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — An employee at Port Everglades is dead following an accident with a tractor-trailer.
Broward Sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion says the employee was leaving work as the truck was entering the area on Wednesday afternoon. The truck hit the pedestrian.
The employee was declared dead at the scene.
CBS4 in Miami reports the employee worked at Sun Terminal, which is a shipping company in the middle of the sprawling Port Everglades complex.
Deputies say the truck is owned by Martainer Inc. in Miami.
