The AT&T Coral Springs store presented the hero, Henry Tate lll, with the new phone and Otterbox protective case to recognize him for his brave actions in Margate on Saturday.

According to an AT&T news release, Tate found the boy floating in a lake behind an apartment complex.

He jumped into the lake, pulled the toddler to shore and began giving him CPR.

The little boy is at a Broward County hospital and is expected to recover.

AT&T said Tate’s iPhone 4 was in his pocket at the time and was ruined from the water damage.

AT&T Public Relations Manager Kelly Layne Starling said the company learned about the story from someone who visited their Coral Springs store.

Tate, who moved to South Florida two weeks ago, recently got recertified in CPR last week, and learned how to swim just three years ago.
