Port Saint Lucie police are investigating eight recent break-ins, including two homes and six cars, near Crosstown Parkway.

Investigators said a masked, gloved man was spotted in the area of the burglaries around 2 a.m. Monday, but police said it’s unclear if he is the burglar.

Resident Chris Heissenberg said his car was broken into just this past Sunday on Brookedge Avenue.

Tami Gavin said her wallet was stolen out of her car, prompting her to make changes.

"(I'm being) much more careful to make sure I lock my car. Make sure I lock the doors at night, that I latch all the screen doors and all that stuff. I'm a little more cautious about that, but if I go outside at night, I'm a little more cautious of my surroundings," said Gavin.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS (8477).
