Attorneys in the Tyler Hadley case appeared before a judge Thursday morning.
He was 17-years-old when he killed his parents five years ago.
Hadley was convicted in 2014 for the murders and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences.
The 4th District Court of Appeal later ruledthat "the trial court did not consider the correct alternative to a life sentence."
As a result the court ordered that Hadley be resentenced.
Another court hearing is set for October 18 in Fort Pierce.
