A Delray Beach mother is pleading with the public, asking anyone who may know who shot and killed her son to come forward.

On Tuesday night, Police say someone came into Courtney McGriff's home on Southwest 14th avenue and killed him.

"It's just like a hole with no ending. It's just like a big deep deep hole," said Sara McGriff, the victim's mother.

The pain of knowing she will never see her son’s beautiful bright smile again is too much for Sara.

"I never thought this would happen to me," she said.

What adds to her suffering, is not knowing why this happened.

"I don't know why somebody would just walk into my home and take the life of my baby," said Sara.

Those who knew and loved Courtney say he would always put others first.

"When you say Courtney all you can do is smile," said Sara.

The 29-year-old owned and ran his own business, McGriff’s Motor Escort Service. Courtney had big dreams and had plans to start a family, but his life was cut short when someone gunned him down.

"He never hurt no one, Courtney would never hurt no one," added Sara.

Police have no leads. His mother asking someone who knows anything to speak up.

"If anybody, anybody, knows anything to please, just please, you don't you don't even have to tell us your name, just call the police," said Sara.

There will be a candlelight vigil to celebrate what would have been Courtney's 30th birthday Thursday. The family is gathering at Johnson’s Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach.
