STUART, Fla. -- Two felons were arrested after a failed burglary attempt overnight in Stuart.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) says 25-year-old Christopher Franquiz, who has 59 past felony arrests and 15 felony convictions, and 33-year-old Orionny Lopez, who has eight past felony arrests and 3 felony convictions, attempted to break into Florida Sports Cycle in Stuart.

MCSO says the two men abandoned their plan after the alarm went off at the business.

Deputies responded quickly to the scene and located both men hiding in the bushes within the fence line just minutes after the alarm went off.

Deputies say the men had bolt cutters, wire cutters and dark clothing with them.

Deputies also discovered a get-away vehicle parked in a nearby parking lot.

Both men were booked into the Martin County Jail and charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Franquiz is being held on a $50,000 bond and Lopez has no bond.
