A pedestrian was struck and killed in Indian River County Thursday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
John Scott Holt, 68, of Vero Beach was attempting to cross County Road 606 when a Jeep SUV driven by Alexis Aparicio Hernandez, 20, also of Vero Beach, struck him, according to an FHP report.
Hernandez was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to troopers.
