Monday is your chance to help shape the future of education in Indian River County. The school district is asking parents to join in a conversation to develop a new five-year plan.

This is all in an effort to keep up with the way classrooms are changing. From incorporating more technology, to focusing on teaching career-building skills in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields.

The district is partnering with a non-profit to create a five-year strategic plan. This will be a roadmap for the district. It will highlight goals and outcomes the district wants to achieve. Then it will lay out how leaders will use funding and resources to track and meet those goals.

First, district leaders want input from parents and the community on what should be included in the plan.

The school district ishosting a public meeting at 6 p.m. at the J.A. Thompson Administrative Center in Vero Beach. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate.
