The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says that one person was shot on Wildcat Way just west of Royal Palm Beach High School.
The victim suffered what was initially described as a non-life threatening injury.
He is being transported as a trauma patient.
Royal Palm Beach High School was on code yellow lockdown as a precaution. Code yellow means no students are allowed to leave while the lockdown is in place.
The lockdown was lifted a short time later.
The incident did not occur on campus.
