Eighteen-year-old Mikal Bartosik and Jonathan Ramilo have been friends for three years.

Their friendship blossomed even though they don't really have classes together.

Jonathan is on the autism spectrum.

"I wish people would step out of their comfort zone and talk to people that are different," Mikal said.

"Everyone in the school has lunch together but the special education kids they sit on this side of the cafeteria and they have like their own table so I go over there every once in a while and talk to them," Mikal says.

Jonathan says she makes him laugh. "She's like funny and sweet." She says he's easy to talk to. "He's outgoing, he's crazy, he's fun."

For Mikal, Jonathan was the perfect person to ask to the prom. She made the "prom-posal" with a cookie cake, plus a friend, to capture it all on video. Jonathan said yes and says he hasn't been able to think of anything else since. Jonathan said, "I was surprised, I was surprised."

He bought a tux, now he's ready for the prom Saturday night.

"I just want to thankfully for the remembrance for me and Mikal forever and I want to say thank you for buying the cookie cake,"  Jonathan says.

"I did it because this is going to be so much fun and this is so cool. I'm all about memories and this will definitely be the greatest memory of my high school," Mikal said.

Jonathan is also among a group of boys in the homecoming court.
