Clown threats are no longer limited to the creepy sightings recently reported in local neighborhoods.

Now, an anonymous Instagram account under the guise of a menacing-looking clown is making threats against Palm Beach County schools.

Palm Beach County school police are deeming these threats as "unsubstantiated" and assured parents they will provide additional support on Tuesday to the schools affected to make sure students feel safe.

In a call sent out to parents on Monday evening, the School District Police Chief Lawrence Leon stated these "clown threats" have been received by schools nationwide.

The unsustained threats were directed at several district schools, including Atlantic High School, Carver Middle School, Odyssey Middle School, Santaluces High School and Village Academy.

Detectives are currently investigating the source of these threats.

If you have any questions or concerns, you are urged to contact your school directly.
