Firefighters in the western United States have been working countless hours these past few months to battle wildfires and save property.

Their hard work and efforts did not go unnoticed by one woman who picked up a big tab to pay for the meals for a few of those brave firefighters in California.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Colton Fire Department, after a long day on the job recently, about 25 firefighters went to an area Denny's restaurant for dinner.

While eating, an anonymous woman told the restaurant staff that she wanted to buy all of their meals as a show of appreciation for their bravery and service.

According the Facebook post, the woman not only paid for their dinner but also chipped in another $100 for dessert and a tip for the staff totaling $405.

"We thank you for your generous show of support," the fire department said.

The Facebook post has been shared more than 900 times since Sunday.
