8 new non-travel related Zika cases in Florida; 1 in Palm Beach County

The Florida Department of Health confirmed there are eight new non-travel related cases of Zika in Florida, including one in Palm Beach County.

The eight new non-travel related Zika cases are made up of two cases from the Wynwood area, two from Miami Beach, three involving Miami-Dade residents, and one case involving a Palm Beach County resident.

Health officials are investigating the new non-travel related cases involving the Palm Beach County resident and the three Miami-Dade County residents in order to determine where exposure occurred.

New statistics released by the Florida Department of Health also indicate travel-related cases are up by seven, including two cases in Palm Beach.

The total number of Zika cases in Florida has reached 771.
