It began on September 8, 1986 and ended on May 25, 2011.

The Oprah Winfrey Show has aired for the final time.

Die-hard fans need not worry, Oprah will live on in re-runs for the next three months.

For 25 years, she has come into our homes every afternoon. She's rich and famous, but seems so normal. That's the magic of Oprah!

In 1994, Oprah told me, being so approachable does have its drawbacks.

"They say, 'Hey Oprah Winfrey...give me some money!," she said.

"Do you get bombarded?," I asked her.

"Yes!," she said. "I was in Walgreens the other day and this man said hey Oprah, give me a thousand dollars! Excuse me sir I'm just buying some Keri lotion!"

"You go to Walgreens?," I asked.

"I do everything. I don't buy into that that stuff," Oprah replied. "I am more familiar than other celebrities. I'm in their homes everyday so they treat me differently."

It was below zero the morning I came to see Oprah, but even freezing weather can't keep the die hard fans away.

Oprah told me, "I think people come down so to see if I lost the weight, to see the show..or they have something to say. I'm really the added attraction. I don't know."

When I met Oprah, she had just turned 40-years-old, and for the second time, had lost a huge amount of weight.

Unlike the fasting diet she had done years before, this time she did it the right way and lost 80 pounds. She had some killer abs and was proud to show me.

There was a lot of laughing, a lot of stories, it was very easy to see why people connected with Oprah.
