2 dead, several injured in crash on Florida's Turnpike in St. Lucie County

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — Two young men were killed after a car crash in St. Lucie County Saturday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says a SUV drove off of Florida's Turnpike and into the grass. The SUV then went back onto the road, but hit a guardrail and overturned.

Authorities say a 25-year-old man from Davie and a 35-year-old man from Silver Springs died in the crash. Three other people in the car were injured.

The crash occurred on Florida's Turnpike Northbound beyond Mile Marker 165. All lanes were closed for hours as crews worked to rescue the four people.
