The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued its latest update on El Niño, and its forecast hasn't changed.
Forecasters still believe this will be one of the top three strongest El Niños on record — up there with 1997-98 and 1982-83.
They believe the current El Niño will likely peak during the upcoming winter months before returning to neutral conditions by late next spring or early summer.
The ongoing El Niño means an overall change in global weather patterns.
The United States will likely see cooler, wetter conditions across the southern half of the country this winter, while the northern half is looking at a warmer, drier winter.
