WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A Purdue football player is gaining some fans of his own after his surprise birthday gift for a little girl went viral.
Megan Shufflebarger posted a story and photo to Facebook of when she was with her daughter, Kinley, who was oohing and aahing in the toy section, making her birthday list. A young man, Purdue freshman running back Tario Fuller II, came up and asked her which one she liked.
She pointed to one and Fuller picked it up and told them to try to stay nearby. Megan thought it was strange, but was too distracted to think more about it.
He came back with the doll in a bag with the receipt and told her "Happy birthday. Enjoy your dolly."
