Former WPTV sports anchor and long-time baseball public address announcer Dick Sanford has passed away.
Sanford died at the age of 66 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
From 2000 to 2014, Sanford was the public address announcer for the Marlins.
He also announced games at Roger Dean Stadium during spring training and for Florida State League games when the Marlins were on the road.
Sanford even called games at Palm Beach Central High School in his spare time.
He was elected to thePalm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
Sanford leaves behind his wife and son.
