BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - A driver was left bloodied when his van was showered with concrete after he says a truck hit an overpass on the Florida Turnpike in Broward Tuesday.
The incident happened on the Turnpike northbound near Hollywood Boulevard and caused traffic backups.
The driver of the van, who was bleeding from a cut on his head, said a truck that was in front of him hit the overpass, causing concrete to break through his windshield and badly damage the front of his van.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said three vehicles were involved and no one was seriously injured.
Officials with the Department of Transportation responded to the scene to check on the condition of the bridge.
