Members of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, including Sheriff Ken Mascara, are in the Washington, D.C., for National Police Week.

He and other members of the department paid their respects to Capt. Charlie Scavuzzo, Sgt. Gary Morales and Master Deputy Joseph Hoover, whose names are inscribed at the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

A candlelight vigil will be held Monday to officially commemorate the 371 names added this year to the memorial wall.
