MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Manatee County elementary school came across an unexpected guest Wednesday morning.
School officials say an 8-foot-2 alligator was spotted at Palm View Elementary School in Palmetto.
Palm View principal Kathea Johnson closed off the area while the school called 911, according to school officials. Wildlife officials responded and safely removed the large alligator.
No one was hurt in the unexpected sighting.
