PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Emergency crews have rescued boaters who were in distress at a Palm Beach County wildlife refuge on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters and deputies responded to the the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge, located west of Boynton Beach, around 12:30 p.m. for a boating incident on the water, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
The boaters said they had lost control of their 17-foot vessel and struck a bank.
Crews used an airboat and helicopter to locate the boaters and bring them safely back to the dock.
One boater suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital, officials said.
