A boil water notice has been issued for Gifford Middle School.
According to a news release, the boil water notice comes after an underground pipe was turned off for repair. The water was shut off to the entire school, after school hours, which requires the school to be under a 72-hour boil water notice.
The release says the health department, as well as the Indian River County EOC, have been notified.
A health department representative will be on site at Giffiord Middle School Wednesday morning to initiate the water testing.
School officials say necessary precautions have been taken and bottled water will be delivered to the school Wednesday morning.
