Texas woman accused of having unnecessary surgery performed on her 9-month-old

Police in Temple, Texas, say Danica Alexandria Harrison was arrested Thursday evening by the College Station Police Department after she was accused of having unnecessary surgery performed on her 9-month-old daughter.

According to Temple police, on March 12, 2018, officers were called to Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center after medical staff observed concerning behavior from the mother of a patient.

Temple PD says an investigation revealed that the mother, Danica Alexandria Harrison of Bryan/College Station, Texas, manipulated medical staff into performing unnecessary surgery and procedures on her 9-month-old daughter.

Temple PD says on Tuesday, July 23, a felony warrant was issued for the arrest of Harrison on charges of Injury to a Child - Intentional Bodily Injury.
