OAK BLUFF, Manitoba, Canada- Dash cam footage released by the Manitoba Royal Canadian Mounted Police shows the dangers of distracted driving.
The hair-raising video shows a motorcyclist riding through an intersection in Oak Bluff, Manitoba.
As he spots the oncoming semi truck, he begins to wobble while desperately trying to evade the inevitable collision.
He is able to stop at the last second before the truck crashes into the motorcycle, almost running him over.
Luckily, the motorcyclist gets right up and begins to walk away from the crash.
An RCMP officer was at the scene and recorded the crash on his dash cam, he said the motorcyclist suffered only minor injuries.
Witnesses told police the driver of the truck, a 50-year-old man from the United States, was on his phone at the time.
He's been charged with distracted driving and running a red light.
But many on twitter questioned if the $406 fine he received was enough of a punishment or deterrent.
