(WTVF/CNN) - Kindergartners in Tennessee had a sweet surprise for a hearing-impaired custodian on his 60th birthday.
Hickerson Elementary School kindergarten teachers Amy Hershman and Allyssa Hartsfield decided to make it a special day, helping students learn to sign the happy birthday song.
James Anthony, 60, said he was deeply touched by the performance.
"James is awesome and is always saying how much I put a smile on his face, but today he has definitely put smiles on faces all around the world," said Hartsfield.
He's been working for the Coffee County, Tennessee, school district since 1991 -- with 15 of those year at Hickerson Elementary School.
